Exam format
The MRCP (UK) Part 1 Written Examination consists of two papers, each of three hours duration.

Both papers will contain up to 100 multiple choice questions in one from five (best of five) format, where a candidate must choose the best answer from five possible answers.

The MRCP Part 1 Written paper is criterion referenced with a predetermined pass mark.

The questions in each specialty will be randomised across both papers.
